InventionMakersTM Most Recent SUCCESSFUL INVENTION
The Five-Function Vacuum Cleaner Nozzle This patented invention has been licensed to a major vacuum cleaner manufacture that wants to remain anonymous. The Nozzle provides all the basic cleaning function, including: Dust brush Upholstery tool, Crevice tool, Edge cleaner, Corner cleaner, Blind cleaner, and Floor tool. The Nozzle works by having two separate nozzle ports that except the wand end of a vacuum hose. In this way both ends of the nozzle can be used for functions. The dust brush is located on one end and a two arm articulating tool is on the other. The two arms are adjustable to many position and allows folding together to make a crevice tool and rotate apart to form an upholstery tool or floor tool. Intermediate positions of the arms allow cleaning of corners and blinds. This invention was Patented and Engineered by InventionMakers staff. Computer Aided Drawings (CAD) and Rapid prototypes were used to generated actual models for presentations to potential licensers. Below are a few pictures of the Nozzle. The first picture is of our first crude prototype that was used to test the design. Strategically placed screws held the prototype together, since we could not find a glue that would bond to the nylon plastic we used for the prototype. The second picture shows the final CAD design done by InventionMakers with tolerances of .001 inches. Movement of the arms and interactions of surfaces were checked by computer before prototypes were constructed.
